Confirmed: Sony Implements 2-Step Verification in Select Regions

Is Sony finally rolling out 2-step verification for the PlayStation Network? If this rumor is too be believed, then yes, it’s finally coming.

It looks like certain regions have indeed started rolling out two-step authentication for the PSN in New Zealand and Australia. Because, criminals. (We kid and love you folks down under, mate.) This is actually a significant step forward for Sony, as many feel their security has been lacking since the hack back in the day (and frankly should have been implemented right then).

No word yet as to when it will roll out stateside as of yet.
